Respiratory Viruses and Masking

As of May 1st, 2025, visits to WAHC will no longer be mask-mandatory. However, masks will continue to be encouraged and welcomed.

WAHC is committed to fostering a safer space to gather with the prevention of respiratory viruses in mind. We will do this through the following initiatives:

  • Wednesdays from 10 am – 4 pm will be mask-mandatory days at WAHC.
  • Air filtration (via HEPA filters) will be used during programming in our CUPE/SCFP Gallery appropriate for the square footage of the room.
  • Guest facilitators can deliver programs that are mask-mandatory upon request.
  • Masks for children and adults will continue to be available for visitors at the front desk.
  • Our side (main) entrance will be open during Spring, Summer and Fall programming, weather permitting.
  • A Co2 monitor will appear in our CUPE/SCFP Gallery mounted on the wall, visible to the public.
  • We will maintain virtual programming year-round for those who would prefer to take part remotely.
  • We will strive to use the backyard whenever possible for programming during warm winter months.
  • We will continue to pay contracted fees when artists cannot lead programming due to illness, in the event that a program cannot be rescheduled.

Washrooms

We have two gender-neutral accessible washrooms, and the washrooms are in the basement. Each multi-stall washroom has a power-assisted entrance. One stall inside each washroom can accommodate mobility devices and is equipped with grab bars.

Service Animals and Support Persons

Support persons are welcome to provide any services needed in the museum and all service animals are welcome.

Driving and Parking

Stuart Street is a two way street and there is plenty of free street parking, as well as free parking in the West Harbour Go Station parking lot.

Please feel free to contact Cayley James, Outreach and Development Specialist at 905-522-3003 x 21 or by email at cayley@wahc-museum.ca if we can do anything to make your visit more comfortable.
