This year's HDLC's Labour Day parade & picnic is amplifying the Migrant Workers Alliance for Change campaign Unite Against Racism-justice for migrant workers! To celebrate Labour Day and in partnership with the HDLC, WAHC is hosting two family-friendly events:

Saturday, August 31, 1:00-3:00 pm - Labour Day Banner & Button Making at Workers Arts and Heritage Centre
Led by WAHC Youth Council members Sahra Soudi & JoJo Harley

This workshop will introduce the Unite Against Racism campaign with a short introduction video, followed by a brief outline of the systemic tactics that divide all working people from uniting for just and decent work lives. Handouts will be available for more information. After the introduction, you can make your own banners and buttons to take with you to the Labour Day parade & picnic on Monday Sept 2nd! All supplies will be provided at the workshop, just bring yourself and a friend!

Monday, September 2, 12:00-2:00 pm - Labour Day Kids' Zone Music and Banner Making at Bayfront Park (near the bouncy castle)
Led by singer-songwriter Shanika Maria & artist Sahra Soudi

Join us at the Kids' Zone at the HDLC Labour Day Picnic in Bayfront Park for an afternoon of music and banner making. Kids of all ages can move to music, make their own Labour Day banners, and play in the Kids' Zone. All supplies will be provided, just come on over!
