Celebrate the history of feminism and labour with WAHC’s Youth Council and the YWCA’s Young Women’s Advisory Council.

Join us for a joint workshop and meal in honour of #WomensHistoryMonth, and learn about the activities of our respective councils.

Come collaborate on a group banner inspired by the words of legendary labour activist Dolores Huerta that will be displayed at WAHC’s upcoming screening of the film Dolores, using a variety of techniques! All material provided, free to attend! All genders welcome. For youth aged 16-25.

RSVP via Eventbrite at this link!

For more info about our screening of Dolores, visit our website: /event/public-screening-dolores/

WAHC’s Youth Council are a diverse group of youth with an interest in art, activism, labour and social justice who take on leadership and volunteer roles at WAHC. Last year, the Council hosted a three-part outdoor activist screening series called Solidarity on Screen. In 2016, our inaugural council hosted a political banner making workshop, and a four-part event series called Solidarity School that was capped off by a concert by Mother Tareka and the Rebel Function in our Main Gallery! We are looking for new Youth Council members for the 2017/18 year.
