SUMMARY:Birender Yadav Artist Residency
DESCRIPTION:WAHC welcomes artist-in-residence Birender Yadav (India) to the Workers Arts & Heritage Centre from October 17th to 25th\, 2019. \nPart of ancillary programming connected to our fall exhibition\, They Built for Eternity. Presented in partnership with SAVAC (South Asian Visual Art Centre). \n\nAbout Birender Yadav: \nBorn in Ballia district\, in a predominantly rural province of Uttar Pradesh\, India. Came from a family of coal miners\, with his father working as a blacksmith at the coal-mines  our province. He was a first to step out from his family and pursue formal higher education. He first did Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Banaras Hindu University\, Varanasi\, graduating in 2013. After this he qualified for a Masters in Fine Arts from the College of Arts\, at New Delhi in 2015. His body of works are a reflection of his personal experiences and memories of growing up in a world of coal miners\, labourers\, and different kinds of workers.
