DESCRIPTION:Join us for a launch of the booklet The 9 Hour Movement: How Civil Disobedience Made Unions Legal by Doug Nesbitt \nThe Nine-Hour Movement started in Canada in 1872. Beginning in Hamilton\, the movement spread quickly to Toronto and Montréal. This marked Canada’s first national attempt at a labour movement\, pushing for the nine-hour work day which united both unionized and non-unionized workers alike. \nWe are excited to team up with our friends at CUPE 3906 and the Hamilton & District Labour Council to present the launch of this booklet about the Nine-Hour Movement by Doug Nesbitt\, published by Rank and File. Booklets will be available at the launch for $5 each. \nThe author will be present at the launch.
