SUMMARY:Button Making and Workers' Stories with 100in1Day Hamilton
DESCRIPTION:WAHC is hosting a 100in1Day intervention to help share workers’ stories in Hamilton. \n100In1Day is a global festival of citizen engagement happening in multiple cities across Canada on Saturday\, June 3\, 2017. Hamiltonians pilot an idea to spark change for our city; last year\, more than 200 Hamilton organizations and residents led 170 urban actions – free for everyone to attend and participate in – all across the city. \nThis year\, WAHC is offering a chance to make wearable buttons and learn more about working people’s history in Hamilton and across Canada.  Inspired by the art of Marlene Yuen showing in the Main Gallery Exhibition\, After Gold Mountain\, visitors of all ages will choose a real-life historic character from the exhibition\, make a button\, and learn more about the character’s story!  For more on WAHC’s idea or to find out what others are planning on June 3rd\, visit 100in1Day. \nThis program takes place over Hamilton Arts Week\, an annual civic celebration of the arts.
