Join Toronto based artist-activist Michael DeForge to explore how visual art and design supports labour organizing and social justice campaigns.

This virtual program will explore questions such as how labour arts and artist-activists inspire action, why people turn to art in moments of resistance, and how are today’s materials of resistance being preserved for the next generation? Moderated by Thirty for Thirty co-curator Sylvia Nickerson.

Michael DeForge is an author and organizer in Toronto, Ontario. His published books include Ant Colony, Dressing, Big Kids, Brat, Sticks Angelica, Folk Hero, Stunt, Familiar Face, Leaving Richard’s Valley, Heaven No Hell, Birds of Maine and Holy Lacrimony.
