Doors Open Hamilton 2018

This event has passed.

May 5, 2018 @ 10:00 am - May 6, 2018 @ 4:00 pm

Come explore Custom House, the Workers Arts & Heritage Centre’s historic home, and experience some special drop-in programs as part of Doors Open Hamilton 2018.

Come and learn about the role of WAHC, Canada’s only national workers’ history museum and art gallery, in celebrating and honouring the role of the labour and social movements and advocating for a fair and just society. View our permanent exhibits on workers’ history in Hamilton, and Ontario.

Interactive activities for all ages include a chance to experience our Worker’s City app at an interactive station. This app and website, launched in 2016, presents the rich working and industrial past of Hamiltonians in all its breadth – at home, in the workplace, in the community.

Also join us for this special program offering:

Saturday, May 5th   |   10:30 am – Noon

Walking tour of Jamesville/Central neighbourhood labour and social history with Rob Kristofferson, Associate Professor of Social/Environmental Justice and History at Wilfred Laurier University. Free, all are welcome! Pre-registration not required.
