DESCRIPTION:In Our Hands\nMohawk College Celebrates Women in Skilled Trades\nMarch 8th – April 15th\nCommunity Gallery\nIn celebration of International Women’s Day 2023\, graphic design students from Mohawk College have collaborated with unionized tradeswomen across Ontario for this illustrated poster series. Each skilled tradeswoman was asked to write about their career journey. \nA design student then creatively interpreted their subject and their trade using art and typography. This poster series is the result of their creative collaboration\, celebrating the work of women and underrepresented gender identities in the skilled trades. The posters and original artwork are hung in WAHC’s Community Gallery highlighting skilled tradeswomen and the creative labour of each designer. \nWAHC is pleased to partner with Mohawk College\, the Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario\, and Ontario Building and Construction Tradeswomen for this exhibition.
