SUMMARY:Join WAHC's 2017/18 Youth Council!
DESCRIPTION:Are you 16-25? Do you have an interest in art\, activism\, labour and social justice? Join WAHC’s Youth Council for a chance to meet artists\, and design events and projects that will allow you to have your say and critically engage with local communities with the support of WAHC staff! \nWe are looking for new members of our Youth Council as we embark on our next two years of youth programming. Last year\, the Council hosted a three-part outdoor activist screening series called Solidarity on Screen. In 2016\, our inaugural council hosted a political banner making workshop\, and a four-part event series called Solidarity School that was capped off by a concert by Mother Tareka and the Rebel Function in our Main Gallery! \nYouth drive the activities of our council\, and there are a few ways you can take part: \n\nLeadership!  WAHC’s Youth Council takes an active role in designing programs for our Centre that reflect issues important to them\, from precarious work and global workers’ solidarity movements to indigenous rights\, feminism and more. Youth council members are able to design and deliver programs with support and mentorship from WAHC staff.\nVolunteering!   You can get your 40 community involvement hours as a Youth Council volunteer! Help us run events and programs\, and supervise the Centre during open hours.\n\nOur meetings happen over the last week of each month! Our next meeting is on Wednesday\, February 28th from 4:30-6pm! \nAre you interested in taking part in the Council in 2017-18?
