Are you 16-29? Interested in workers’ rights, labour history and social justice? Join our youth council!
The WAHC youth council is a vibrant group of young people passionate about labour, art and social justice. The council meets monthly, sometimes bi-weekly during busier periods. Build relationships with other youth and gain experience designing and implementing critical events and projects while in community with others. If you are a high school student, the council is a great opportunity to gain your 40 hours of community engagement.
Some past events include:
– A labour-themed screening series
– A project contribution to a symposium on art and gentrification
– A zine making workshop on the topic of gendered experiences in the workplace
– A panel and film screening on the topic of Afrofuturism
We would love for you to join – our first meeting will be in October most likely over zoom.
