DESCRIPTION:Myth-Busting Unions\nThursday July 14\, 6:30-8pm\nIn person workshop\, backyard at WAHC\nFREE Pizza dinner! \nThis workshop will go over the importance and intersections of labour organizing and community organizing. We will then look at common myths surrounding unions\, workers rights and organizing and discuss and debunk. All are welcome! Facilitated by Rosa Zetler and Jordyn Perreault-Laird from Justice for Workers. \n\nABOUT THE FACILITATORS: \nJordyn Perreault-Laird is an activist and organizer in Hamilton. She is also an animal lover\, and you will often find her with her direct action doggo at rallies across the province. As a union member and community organizer with Justice for Workers\, she is committed to equity\, social unionism\, and progressing workers’ rights. \nRosa Zetler currently works for a union and volunteers for organizations including Labour Council\, Justice for Workers\, and Independent Jewish Voices. Although her background is in math and economics\, she had always been interested in workers rights and got more involved in the labour movement after working in a string of restaurants where power dynamics between bosses and workers were extremely evident. Other than that\, she likes biking\, pottery and hanging in parks with friends. \n\nThis workshop is being presented in connection to WAHC’s main gallery exhibition Proofed: print media and working people.
