Punching the Clock: East End Walking Tour

Labour and Wrasslin’ East End Walking Tour led by Rob Kristofferson (Associate Professor, Social and Environmental Justice/History, Laurier University) and artist Dave Kuruc. Learn about labour and wrestling history of Hamilton’s East End! Dave will share his insights on sites relevant to wrestling in the East End, and Rob will connect these sites with intersecting labour and social histories. During the guided walk, they will make strong connections between wrestling, work, industry and labour.

When: Saturday, October 13, from 1:00- 3:00pm (active walking from 1:00- 2:30pm, total walking time is 1.5 hours).

The Tour route: starts at The Playhouse on 177 Sherman Avenue North (at Case Street) and will end at Barton Street at Sanford near the Hamilton Forum’s former site.  Participants can refresh for a post-walk rest at the 541 café nearby. 

Parking is available at the municipal parking lot near the Playhouse Theatre; free parking is available at the Cotton Factory as well. Details of inclement weather plan is forthcoming.
