DESCRIPTION:Finding Our Place Through Fiction & Zines\nIn celebration of Pride month\, join Hamilton authors Anuja Varghese\, Nairne Holtz\, and zinester Erin War for an evening of Queer art and literature on Thursday\, June 15th\, 7-8:30 pm at WAHC. Each author will read from their original work followed by a facilitated q&a with the audience. \nDrawing on the themes found in our Spring/Summer exhibition\, Infrastructures of Dissent\, Anuja\, Nairne\, and Erin will discuss Queer space\, placemaking\, and bodies as sites of resistance in relation to their writing\, zine-making\, and creative work. \nThis event is FREE to the public and we ask that you pre-register via the link below.\n\n \nAuthor Bios\nAnuja Varghese\nAnuja Varghese is a QWOC Pushcart-nominated writer whose work appears in Hobart\, The Malahat Review\, The Fiddlehead\, Plenitude Magazine\, Southern Humanities Review\, So to Speak Journal\, Flock Literary Journal\, and Corvid Queen: A Journal of Feminist Fairy Tales\, among others. \nIn 2022\, Anuja has work included in When Other People Saw Us\, They Saw the Dead\, an anthology of BIPOC gothic horror from Haunt Press\, and Queer Little Nightmares\, an anthology of queer monster stories from Arsenal Pulp Press. Her debut short story collection titled Chrysalis\, exploring South Asian diaspora experience through a feminist\, speculative lens\, will be released in spring 2023 with House of Anansi. \nNairne Holtz\nNairne Holtz is a librarian and novelist who also has a private investigator’s license. Her books have been short-listed for two Lambda Literary Awards and Quebec’s McAuslan First Book Prize. She began her writing career in the early 90s in Montreal with the creation of a pansexual porn zine\, Pornorama. She now lives in Hamilton and is working on a mystery\, Skunk Town.  \nErin War
