Women’s Work: Weaving Our Stories Together
Children and families are invited to join What We Inherit artist Heidi McKenzie on International Women’s Day to create a community quilt celebrating the transformative work of women. Participants are invited to bring photographs of the female members of their families and communities (digitally or on paper). Using photocopies and prints of these images, participants create square collages celebrating women’s work. Participants can choose to take their artwork home or have it sewn into a community quilt displayed at WAHC.
WAHC wishes to acknowledge the Ontario Arts Council, the City of Hamilton, the Province of Ontario, CUPE National, the Canada Council for the Arts, Canada’s Building Trades Unions, OPSEU/SEFPO and Teamsters Local Union 879 for their support of our exhibitions and ancillary programs.
