Shanika Maria is a singer-songwriter whose chameleon-like music makes it difficult to label into a specific genre. This introspective lyricist explores themes of identity, power and mental illness through her dynamic writing style. Her performance is an intimate experience, quieting the audience as if she’s singing directly to and about you.
Lee Reed is a Hamilton OG and a veteran of the Kanadian Indie music scene. Reed’s musical legacy has remained committed to revolutionary struggle, and the fight for a better world: voicing anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist politics through HipHop; soundtracking and signal-boosting the efforts of communities and organizers struggling on the frontline for social and environmental justice. He is a 2019 Polaris Prize nominee and a proud new member of the Strange Famous label roster.
