SUMMARY:APPLY: Summer School for Artist-Educators
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to apply to take part in a series of professional development sessions for artist-educators in the Hamilton area\, hosted by the Workers Arts & Heritage Centre\, and supported by the Ontario Arts Council. \nIn response to our first professional development session for artist-educators in July 2015\, we are offering a multi-session summer school for artist-educators. These sessions will consist of seminar sessions in the areas of museum education\, labour art and labour history\, anti-oppression pedagogical frameworks\, learning models for different abilities and more. These sessions will equip arts educators to teach issue-based workshops for kids\, youth and adults at the Workers Arts & Heritage Centre\, Canada’s only labour history museum and multidisciplinary art centre\, and will enrich their skills and practice as arts educators in other venues. \nThis summer school will be divided between compulsory and elective sessions. It is mandatory that those interested attend all four compulsory sessions. \nSpace in this program is limited\, and an honourarium will be provided to all who take part. To be considered for this program\, fill out this Surveymonkey form as an expression of interest. Because space is limited\, a selection process will be employed to determine who will take part in these sessions.
