DESCRIPTION:Virtual Book Club: Reading the Jungle\nThursday April 15\, 7PM\nOnline on Zoom \nHamilton-based writer John Hill is adding a poetic twist to next week’s virtual book club meeting! Upton Sinclair’s novel “The Jungle” raises important themes of labor\, work\, dignity\, rights\, and immigration. Using the method of Blackout poetry\, book club participants will aim to unlock these themes through a creative exercise over zoom.  Bring a keen eye and your imagination! Poetry created in this workshop will be contributed to a zine that will be given to all participants. \nPre-register for the meeting by clicking here.  \nPlease note:  Prior reading of the novel is not required and image editing experience is not needed. Once you pre-register\, an email with the zoom link will be sent to you. \nJohn Isaiah Edward Hill is a queer\, Indigenous\, working class poet and artist from Hamilton\, Ontario. He is Oneida nation\, Turtle clan from Six Nations of the Grand River. His poetry deals with colonization\, queerness\, anger\, hope\, and the enchantment which lies beneath the surface of so-called modern civilization \n\nGet a Copy of the Jungle: \nThere are a few ways book club members can access a copy of the book.
