SUMMARY:In Other Words: Mixed Media Stories Exhibition and Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an exhibition and celebration of the work of young artists from our In Other Words: Mixed Media Stories workshops\, as well as collage workshop participants from the Learning and Fun (LAF) After School Program at the Welcome Inn Community Centre on Saturday\, November 22nd\, from 1-2 pm! \nFree to attend.  Refreshments will be served! \nExhibition runs in the Workers Arts & Heritage Community Gallery from November 22nd to December 20th\, 2014. \nAbout In Other Words: Mixed Media Stories:  \nIn Other Words is series of workshops where children have created mixed media collages as a form of storytelling. Inspired by the work in Lynn Hutchinson Lee’s exhibition metanoia\, participants use collage to explore themes of work\, immigration and family stories. This program runs October 18th\, 25th\, November 1st\, 8th and 22nd 2014 and is facilitated by Lisa Pijuan-Nomura. \nWAHC acknowledges the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Ontario Arts Council for its support of this program.
