Youth Council Zinemaking Workshop

This event has passed.

June 30, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

WAHC’s Youth Council is proud to present a free Zine Workshop (and delicious catered lunch) at the Workers Arts & Heritage Centre.

What are some of the gendered experiences you’ve had in the workplace? How have you addressed challenges in the workplace as a young (woman, LGBTQ+) worker? What are the workplace issues most important to you?

After a group picnic lunch and discussion, we will work on a compilation zine that collects diverse stories and perspectives of gender and work. Special guest facilitators Amy Egerdeen (Hamilton Feminist Zine Fair) and Sonali Menezes will guide us through the zine-making process. All materials will be provided.

Pre-registration is required via Eventbrite here: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/wahc-youth-council-zine-workshop-tickets-47041374016

Catering provided by the YWCA’s At the Table. Please email any dietary restrictions you have to tara@wahc-museum.ca in advance of the workshop!

Our finished group zine will be sold at a WAHC Youth Council table at Hamilton Zineposium 2018 on July 7th!

Come join the group, enjoy an afternoon of zine making, and have your say!
