COVID-19 Protocols and Vaccination Policy

We take the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors seriously. We have a large museum and the ability to spread out, so you can expect to be fairly distanced from other visitors when you visit.

Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind for everyone’s healthy and safety:

  • Vaccines are mandatory! Please see below for our full vaccination policy
  • Masks are mandatory! If you can’t wear a mask, we’d be happy to make an appointment at an alternate time for you to visit
  • We want to see you, but please stay home if you’re feeling unwell
  • Keep social distance where possible
  • Keep to the right in narrow corridors

For pre-registered programs, please arrive 15-20 minutes before the start of your program in order to for us to sign you in and check your proof of vaccination status. We appreciate your patience and understanding!

Further, we have a rigorous daily cleaning and disinfecting schedule and our building has clearly marked signage for directional wayfinding.

We hope you enjoy your visit! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at 905-522-3003 x 21.

We will post any future changes to our operations on this page.

WAHC COVID-19 VACCINATION POLICY

Preamble

This policy is enacted in the interest of balancing the Workers Arts & Heritage Centre’s (WAHC) commitment to its health and safety obligations and public health directives with the desire to return to in-person programming and services in a way that protects the safety of staff, volunteers and visitors.

We recognize that the situation with COVID-19 is constantly evolving. As a result, this policy will be reviewed regularly in light of changing circumstances and may be amended by the Board if required.

Mandatory Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination

To attend WAHC, those laid out in the Application section below must provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as defined by the Ontario Ministry of Health.

Application

This policy applies to staff, volunteers, artists, board members, program participants, visitors, contractors and facility renters. Proof of vaccination is required as a condition of hire or before being contracted to provide services to WAHC. Tenants are expected to abide by this policy, or to implement a policy of their own so long as the terms are not inconsistent with this policy.

Children Under 12

If not fully vaccinated, individuals under the age of 12 are required to have their parent or guardian submit confirmation that the child has passed the self-screening questionnaire (no symptoms, contact or travel) that will be conducted upon entering WAHC. This is required each time a child attends WAHC.

Medical Exemptions

Individuals with a valid and documented medical exemption, as per the Ministry of Health, who wish to attend the Workers Arts & Heritage Centre are required to participate in regular COVID testing as follows:

  • Documentation must be provided of a negative COVID antigen test taken in the last 72 hours
  • This documentation must be presented on each arrival
  • Testing must be conducted at a medically recognized site with the subsequent report as proof of test results
  • All COVID testing will be undertaken at the individual’s expense
  • If exercising this option please call WAHC at 905-522-3003 x23 to inform us in advance
